Chiseled Prayer Angel

When I sat down to design this angel, I wanted to step away from overly ornate, traditional statues and create something with clean, expressive geometry. I’ve always admired the look of hand-chiseled stone and wood folk art, where simple angles tell the entire story without needing intricate facial features.

Translating those crisp facets into 3D printing was a fun balancing act. I spent some time tweaking the drape of the robes and the sweep of the wings so that ambient room light would create natural contrasts across the model. Printing the body in a soft matte finish paired with a deep, wood-tone base gave it the exact grounded, peaceful presence I was aiming for. It’s one of those pieces that feels deeply personal, whether you view it as a guardian watching over your home or a comforting reminder to pause and pray.
